Introduction to Flash Photography
Frank Failing, award-winning photographer and photojournalist, can be seen around town capturing the scenes and faces of gay Chicago. Frank is well known and respected in Chicago's gay community for his passion of people and photography, making him perfect at capturing the candid moments of an individual in his own unique perspective.
A Rockford native born into a military family, Frank's passion for photography began at the age of seven while living in Germany. Frank's professional photography career began with his work for Elson-Alexandre, an executive portrait firm based in Hollywood, CA. As a freelance photographer, Frank's work has been featured in local and national publications and currently appears regularly in Gay Chicago Magazine, Boi Magazine and on ChicagoPride.com.
As a professional photographer, Frank also specializes in executive and personal portraiture, event photography and commercial product photography. Committed to providing a quality product, Frank uses both medium format Mamyia RB67 film and 35mm SLR digital. Additionally, Frank teaches at the Chicago Photography Center and is a board member of the local chapter of the American Society of Media Photographers.
